New Trade Possibility

Here is a possible trade scenario:
The Lakers would be involved in a trade with the Orlando Magic with three marquee names headlining.  The trade would involve Andrew Bynum, Lamar Odom, and Dwight Magic.  Bynum, Odom, and Steve Blake would be sent to Orlando for Dwight Howard, Jameer Nelson, and Earl Clark.

The Lakers would have to eat about $2 million in salary, pending the new CBA allows them to.  The Magic receive two potential all-stars in Bynum and Odom, so they don't get LeBron'ed.  It gives the Magic some players to work around and build a championship roster.  Now for the Lakers.

The move would be quite interesting for the Lakers.  They give up probably their best trade chip in Lamar but receive two 'physical' things and one 'intangible'.  Bynum doesn't have a track record of staying healthy so its only a matter of time when the knees give out and the Lakers would be smart to let the Magic deal with that.  They acquire Howard and Nelson which solves the bonafide center and heir apparent to Los Angeles and a younger quicker point guard in Nelson.  I threw Clark in there because he is similar to Lamar in play style.  Clark didn't get much spotlight mainly because of the roster in Orlando but with Mike Brown and a new offense he would be perfect.  Then the intangible aspect is youth.  With Blake and Lamar both pushing 32 it wouldn't be a bad idea.

I posted this idea on nba-tade-rumors.com and users seemed to be split on the idea.  People were split 15-15 on believable and unbelieveable on this idea.  Which has actually peaked my interest because it seemed to be the most believable post on there.  One comment on a similar post was, "Where do I begin on what's wrong with this, oh yea too much drugs."  I also put the trade into ESPN's Trade Machine and it came out tade accepted.

With the seal of approval, the Lakers would increase their wins by 10 games. If I am not mistaken that would have put them at the top seed of the Western Conference last year.  The Magic would decrease by 11 wins but that is with a few of their players leaving as well.

Just something to think about and wait for.  Have a nice day!
